“Hold him a little longer, rock him a little more, read him another story, you’ve only read him four. Let him sleep on your shoulder, rejoice in his happy smile, he is only a little boy for such a little while.”

As a boy mom, I have such a soft spot when it comes to photographing baby boys. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a mama stare at her son with such a strong connection that you only see between a mother and her boy. And man, you can really feel the love for this little boy just by looking at this gallery!

From the moment I walked into Veronica and Jonathan’s home, I felt an immediate connection with them. It really felt like I was there photographing friends. And then came the big moment I laid eyes on their baby boy, and can I just say… SWOON! My heart still melts every time I come across his photos! He is just the sweetest little thing. I was lucky enough to be able to capture those cute sleepy photos as well as some photos where he was looking right at me like he knew it was his time to shine. Also, can we just talk about baby yawns for a second? Because I’m obsessed and it is my mission to capture it at every single session and Mason gave us the best yawn I could ask for! *insert crying out of joy emoji* I loved every second I got to spend with this beautiful family and I’m so excited for them to experience this new chapter in their lives.

And just a quick real talk reminder: Being a first-time parent can be a lot. It’s overwhelming at times and the fact that you’re running on a few hours of sleep every day really gets to you, especially when it’s 3am and you’re stuck in that chair for an hour or so trying to get that tiny human back to bed. But always remember that you’re not alone and this season in your life doesn’t last forever. The days are long but the weeks and years are so short. And always remember to take a moment and breathe in that new baby smell as often as you can. 🙂
